Sorensen Construction Inc. has been working in the Columbia Gorge area since 1992. We specialize in design/build projects utilizing materials and systems to create unique and energy efficient buildings. We have assembled a team of specialized contractors to give our clients the highest level of quality and commitment during and after the construction of the project.
Sorensen Construction Inc. designs and builds projects with efficiency as the #1 goal. We start by encouraging clients to design efficient spaces to minimize the total footprint of the structure. Passive solar design, daylighting, thermal mass, sealed envelopes and efficient HVAC systems lead the way to a structure that consumes less energy and provides a more comfortable work/living space.
We enjoy building structures that are original, creative and aesthetically pleasing. The use of alternative, recycled and salvaged building materials adds great amounts of character and interest to the project.
Sorensen Construction, Inc. is affiliated with Common Energy, LLC which specializes in the design and installation of photovoltaic and solar hot water systems. After the construction of a highly efficient structure, utilizing PV (photovoltaic) and SHW (solar hot water) systems can assist the client in achieving a “zero-net” scenario. In other words, a PV and SHW system can partially or completely offset a structure’s energy consumption. Producing as much energy as the structure consumes is considered “zero-net”. We consider this a very feasible goal.
